Need a hand?

Most things are answered below — tap a question to open it. If yours isn’t here, write to godsofmythsupport@gmail.com and you will get a reply from a person, usually within a couple of days.

The quickest way to reach us is from inside the game: Settings › Support › Email support. That fills in the app version, the build and your iOS release automatically, which is the first thing any reply needs.

When you write, say what you were doing, which screen you were on, and include your username if the trouble is with your account.

I.  Getting started

Do I need an account to play?

Yes. Gods Of Myth is played with an account so your collection, your drachma and your progress follow you to a new phone instead of living on one device. There are three ways in, and any one of them is enough:

  • an email address and a password you choose;
  • Sign in with Apple;
  • Sign in with Google.

Whichever you pick, use the same one every time. Signing in a different way makes a different account, with a different collection.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad, in portrait. It is one layout that adapts to the screen rather than a phone version stretched onto a tablet, so an iPad shows more of your collection at once rather than the same cards blown up.

Can I play without an internet connection?

Mostly, yes. Story mode, tournaments, your collection, the Oracle and the Workshop all run from the copy of your game held on the device. Ranked Arena still finds you opponents with no connection at all.

What does need one: signing in the first time, saving to the cloud, publishing to the Ranked ladder, and friend battles. Anything you do offline is pushed up the next time the game can reach the server.

What does it cost?

The game is free. Drachma bundles and two of the packs can be bought through the App Store if you want them; everything else is earned by playing. Nothing renews and there is no subscription.

II.  Your account

I have forgotten my password.

There is no reset button in the game yet. Write to godsofmythsupport@gmail.com from the email address on the account and we will send you a reset link.

Do not make a new account in the meantime. A second account is a second, empty collection, and the first one cannot be merged into it.
I signed in with Apple and hid my email address. Can I still get my account back?

Yes. Your account is tied to your Apple ID, not to the address. On a new device, tap Sign in with Apple again with the same Apple ID and your game comes back.

What will not work is creating an account with an email address instead. That is a different door and a different account.

Can I change my username?

Yes — Profile › Change your name. Names are three to sixteen letters, numbers or underscores, and each one can only be held by one player, so a name already taken will be refused.

Your old name is released when the change goes through.

Can I give my account to somebody else, or buy one?

No. Accounts, usernames and anything inside them cannot be sold, traded or transferred, and an account obtained that way can be closed. See the Terms of Service.

How do I delete my account?

On the Profile screen, just beneath Sign out, there is Delete account. You will be asked to prove the account is yours — your password, or Apple’s or Google’s sign-in sheet plus your username typed out — and then it is gone: the account, the save, the collection, the drachma and the sign-in itself.

It cannot be undone, and it is not a refund. Anything you have paid for goes with it. Exactly what is removed, and the two things that are not, is set out in the Privacy Policy.

III.  Your progress

I have a new phone. How do I get my collection back?

Install the game and sign in the same way you did before. Your save is mirrored to your account, so it is pulled down as soon as you are in — there is nothing to export and nothing to transfer.

I signed in and my game looks empty, or older than it should.

The game keeps the most recent version of your save, counted by how many times it has been written rather than by the clock, so a device with a wrong date cannot win an argument with one that is right.

First, make sure you have a connection and close the game fully, then reopen it. It checks the server on every launch and whenever it comes back to the front.

If it still looks wrong, write to us before playing any further. Playing pushes the version you are looking at up to the server, and that is the point at which the older one stops being recoverable.
Does signing out delete my game?

No. Signing out saves to the cloud first and then clears the copy on that device, so the device is clean for whoever signs in next and your game is waiting when you come back.

Can I play the same account on my phone and my iPad?

Yes. Sign in on both. Each one saves up within seconds of anything changing, and a device that is already open hears about the other within about a second, so you can put the phone down and pick the iPad up.

Playing both at the same moment is the one thing to avoid — two devices moving forward without seeing each other cannot both keep their progress.

IV.  Buying things

I bought drachma and it has not arrived.

Almost always a connection that dropped at the moment Apple confirmed the payment. Open the game with a working connection — it checks for outstanding App Store transactions every time it starts and grants anything it finds, once.

If it still has not appeared, write to godsofmythsupport@gmail.com with the App Store receipt Apple emailed you and your username.

How do I get a refund?

Apple takes the payment and holds the transaction, so refunds are Apple’s to give. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID you bought it with.

We cannot issue an App Store refund. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and any equivalent law where you live, are not affected by that.

Can I restore my purchases?

Your balance lives with your account, not with the device, so signing in is what restores it — there is nothing to tap.

Drachma itself is consumable: once Apple confirms the purchase it is added to your purse, and once you spend it, it is spent. Consumables cannot be restored a second time, which is ordinary for the App Store.

What is actually in a pack?

Every pack shows what it holds and what it guarantees before you buy it — how many cards, and the least the pack promises about them. Those promises are kept on every pack, every time.

Beyond the guarantee, the contents are random. Buy a pack for what it promises rather than for one particular card.

Is the Season Pass a subscription?

No. The premium track is bought with drachma, not money, so nothing is charged to your card and nothing renews. A season runs for the calendar month; when it ends, anything you earned but did not collect is claimed for you automatically and the pass resets for the new month.

V.  Playing

How does Ranked Arena work?

It runs in weekly seasons. You publish defence teams, other players attack them while you are away, and you attack theirs. Points are won and lost on both halves of that, and the week rolls over for everybody at the same moment.

Your name, your avatar, your record and the teams you publish are visible to other players on the ladder. Your email address never is.

Are all my Ranked opponents real people?

No. The ladder is filled out with a roster of computer-controlled opponents. They are mixed in with human entries and are not labelled on screen.

They are there so matchmaking always has somebody to offer, so the mode still works with no connection, and so you are not sent back to the same handful of real players over and over.

My alter cards have disappeared.

Alter cards are spent when they are played — win, lose or flee — and the slot they came from is refilled from your collection before the next battle. That is how they are meant to work, not a fault.

If a slot could not be refilled, you are short of that kind of alter. The game warns you before a battle when your ten slots cannot all be filled.

How do friend battles work?

One of you hosts and gets a join code; the other enters it. Both phones then run the whole battle themselves and only the two decisions each round cross between them, which is what keeps it quick.

Because both sides are playing it live, a connection that drops can end the battle. Only share a code with someone you mean to play.

What happens when a season or a week ends?

Ranked weeks close for everyone at the same instant and the ladder starts again. The Season Pass runs to the end of the calendar month, auto-claims anything you have earned and not collected, and then resets.

Your collection, your drachma and your story progress are yours permanently and are not touched by either.

VI.  Something is wrong

There is no sound.

Three things to check, in this order:

  • the silent switch on the side of the phone, and the volume;
  • Settings › Audio inside the game — music and effects have their own levels;
  • close the game fully and reopen it.

That last one matters more than it sounds. If iOS restarts its audio service while the game is open — which can happen after a call, or when another app misbehaves — sound can stay silent until the game is relaunched.

A screen is stuck, or the game will not get past the loading art.

Close the app fully and reopen it with a working connection. The first screen needs to reach the server to check your sign-in.

If it happens every time, write to godsofmythsupport@gmail.com and say which screen and what you had just done. Send it from inside the game if you can get that far, so the version and build come with it.

Somebody’s username is offensive.

There is no chat in Gods Of Myth, so a name is the only thing another player can say to you — and names that impersonate, advertise, harass or are obscene are not allowed.

Send the name to godsofmythsupport@gmail.com and where you saw it. Names that break the rule are renamed or reclaimed.

How do I report a bug or suggest something?

Settings › Support › Email support. It opens a message already carrying the app version, the build number and your iOS release, and nothing else about you.

Tell us what you were doing, which screen you were on, and what you expected instead. A screenshot or a screen recording is worth a paragraph.

VII.  Privacy and data

What does the game collect about me?

Your account details, your save, your Ranked entry and your purchases — and it is all set out, field by field, in the Privacy Policy.

What it does not collect: your location, your contacts, your photos, your camera or your microphone. There is no general analytics tracking in the build.

Are there adverts in the game?

No. Gods Of Myth shows no adverts at all.

It does advertise itself elsewhere, and a short list of milestones — the app was installed, an account was made, the tutorial was finished, the shop was opened, a purchase was begun or completed — is reported so we know which campaigns bring players who enjoy the game. No username, email address or collection is ever part of that.

Whether those milestones can be joined to you personally is entirely the answer you gave when iOS asked about tracking, and you can change it at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

Can I get a copy of my data, or have it corrected?

Yes. Write to godsofmythsupport@gmail.com from the address on the account, or tell us your username if the account has no address on it. Requests are answered within 30 days.

Still stuck?

Write from inside the game where you can — Settings › Support › Email support — so the version comes with it.
