Bors stands as one of the oldest living witnesses to the foundational events that shaped the supernatural world. As one of the original Ascendants who first discovered the Spring of Life, he has existed for thousands of years, though his current state as a ravaged represents a tragic fall from his heroic beginnings.
Distinguished by his ancient battle armor and long white beard, Bors appears as a warrior out of time—his spectral form preserving the appearance of the man who once fought alongside the first Deorum against Gedeon’s forces. His movements retain echoes of military discipline despite the ravages of time and madness on his mind.
In his original life, Bors was part of the legendary group of warriors who ventured into the Daemon Dimension seeking a way to close Gedeon’s rift. This journey led to the discovery of the Spring of Life, transforming Bors and his companions into the first Ascendants—enhanced beings capable of standing against daemonic threats that had overwhelmed ordinary humans.
The exact circumstances that led to Bors becoming a ravaged remain shrouded in mystery, though it appears he made his bargain with the Reaper long after the great war with Gedeon. Whatever wish he traded his soul to fulfill, the resulting eternity as one of the Reaper’s servants has been particularly cruel for this once-proud warrior.
Unlike most ravaged who maintain their sanity through their eternal service, Bors gradually lost his grip on reality. His experiences in the Daemon Dimension—things he witnessed that no human mind was meant to process—combined with centuries of existence to fracture his psyche. This mental deterioration placed him among the “Crazed”—those whose minds broke under supernatural burden.
Despite his damaged mind, Bors retained crucial knowledge that others sought—particularly regarding the location of the portal to the Daemon Dimension. This information made him valuable to various factions over centuries, though his fractured communication style meant that extracting useful intelligence from him remained challenging.
In his rare moments of lucidity, glimpses of the honorable warrior he once was occasionally surface—a commitment to principles that transcends even madness and the loss of his soul. These brief windows into his true self suggest that somewhere beneath the broken exterior, elements of the original hero remain intact.
