Character Profile – The Lost Artefacts: Revon Nox

Revon Nox embodies the darkest potential of the Ascendant world—a man whose radical beliefs about Ascendant superiority have twisted into something monstrous. His imposing physical presence, made all the more striking by the severe burn scars covering half his face, serves as a physical manifestation of his inner corruption.

Long before his name became synonymous with terror, Nox was known among Ascendants for his controversial political views. While most Ascendants viewed their abilities as a responsibility to protect both worlds, Nox advocated for Ascendant dominance, believing their enhanced abilities made them inherently superior to both ordinary humans and Sorcerers. This extremist position left him isolated within the Society, with few allies and many opponents.

As a fighter, Nox developed a distinctive dual-wielding sword technique that matched his aggressive personality. His combat approach focuses on overwhelming force rather than finesse, preferring to terrify opponents with relentless attacks rather than strategic precision. This brutality extends beyond the battlefield, as Nox gained a reputation for torture and psychological manipulation to achieve his ends.

The burn scarring that disfigured half his face became his most recognisable feature—a wound that seemed to fuel rather than diminish his malice. The injury transformed him from merely a radical voice into something more sinister, as if the external scarring had somehow released an internal darkness that had always lurked beneath the surface.

Over time, Nox utilised methods to control certain daemon species through the use of daemon skulls. This unique ability further separated him from other Ascendants, as most considered daemons enemies to be destroyed rather than weapons to be wielded. His willingness to employ these creatures against fellow Ascendants marked a line most would never cross.

Those unfortunate enough to find themselves in Nox’s custody rarely emerge unscathed. His interrogation techniques blend physical torture with psychological cruelty, finding each victim’s breaking point with disturbing precision. The few who have survived encounters with him speak of his unnerving calm during these sessions, as if inflicting pain brings him a sense of satisfaction rather than reluctance.

Behind his fanaticism and cruelty lies a calculating mind that understands power dynamics with instinctive clarity. Nox’s ability to identify others’ weaknesses and exploit them mercilessly has allowed him to advance agendas that would seem impossible to most. This combination of physical prowess, and moral bankruptcy makes him one of the most dangerous figures in the supernatural world—a predator who believes deeply in his right to hunt.
