Montgomery ‘Monty’ Aldefos is the elder son of Head Legionnaire Marshall Aldefos and the temporary co-leader of the New York Castellum. Raised in Abonerra, the Ascendant home dimension, Monty received extensive training in combat, tactics, and Ascendant protocol from an early age. His upbringing under his father’s strict guidance has shaped him into a disciplined, rule-oriented young man who values order and procedure.
Standing tall with a serious demeanor, Monty carries himself with the composure of someone far beyond his years. He is rarely seen without his hawk Phoenine, Argus, who complements his vigilant and observant nature. As an Ascendant, Monty is skilled with a sword and demonstrates tactical thinking in combat situations.
Unlike his more relaxed younger brother Hyde, Monty approaches his responsibilities with unwavering dedication. He speaks formally, often sounding like “a drill sergeant” according to those around him, and holds others to the same high standards he sets for himself. This formality sometimes creates friction between him and more free-spirited Ascendants.
Despite his sometimes rigid exterior, Monty harbors deeper motivations. His relationship with his father is complex, as he continuously strives for approval and recognition. This desire to prove himself worthy drives much of his behavior, though he rarely discusses these personal matters with others.
When appointed as temporary head of the New York Castellum alongside his brother, Monty approaches the role with characteristic seriousness, determined to maintain order during a tumultuous time. Though initially skeptical of Sorcerers and those who don’t follow protocol to the letter, Monty demonstrates the capacity for growth and adaptation when presented with new evidence or perspectives.
Behind his formal facade, Monty possesses a strong moral compass and genuine concern for those under his protection. While he may not always show it through warmth or casual interaction, his actions reveal a person committed to justice and the greater good.
