Runmon Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pixel Banks (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use Runmon (the “App”), our walking and creature-collecting game for iPhone. We built Runmon so that your activity data stays on your device. We do not run accounts, we do not operate servers that receive your game or health data, and we do not sell or share your personal information.
1Summary
- ✓No sign-up, no account and no username linked to your real identity.
- ✓Health, motion and location data are read only with your permission and are processed on your device to power gameplay.
- ✓We do not collect, store or transmit your health, motion or location data to our own servers.
- ✓No advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- ✓Optional save backups go to your own private iCloud storage, managed by Apple.
- ✓In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
2Information the App uses
2.1 Apple Health (HealthKit) data
With your permission, Runmon reads the following from Apple Health:
- Step count – to award experience (EXP) and progress your creatures.
- Walking and running distance – to trigger wild encounters, unlock map locations and progress quests.
- Sleep analysis – to power in-game rest and recovery features.
Runmon only reads this data; it does not write anything to Apple Health. HealthKit data is used solely to provide the App’s gameplay features. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, never shared with third parties, and never sent to our servers. Some derived game values (for example, totals of distance walked or your creatures’ levels) are kept in your game save on your device and, if iCloud backup is enabled, in your private iCloud storage.
You can change or withdraw Health access at any time in the iPhone Settings app under Health → Data Access & Devices → Runmon.
2.2 Location data
With your permission, Runmon uses your device’s location to:
- measure the distance you travel live while the App is open;
- keep measuring distance in the background (including with the screen locked) if you turn on Adventure Sync; and
- work out local sunrise and sunset times so in-game locations switch between day and night.
Location is processed on your device to calculate distance and time of day. We do not keep a history of where you have been, we do not build maps of your routes, and we do not send your location to our servers or to any third party. You can turn off Adventure Sync in the App’s Settings, and you can change or revoke location access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Runmon.
2.3 Motion & Fitness data
With your permission, Runmon reads motion data from your iPhone to count steps live while the App is open. This data is processed on your device only. You can revoke access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness.
2.4 Game progress
Your game progress (creatures, items, coins, badges, settings and similar) is stored locally on your device. It does not identify you personally and is not sent to us.
2.5 iCloud backups
If you are signed in to iCloud with iCloud Drive turned on, Runmon may save backup copies and automatic snapshots of your game progress to the App’s private container in your own iCloud account, so you can restore your progress on a new device or after reinstalling. These files are stored and protected by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. We cannot access your iCloud account or the files in it. You can restore or delete your iCloud save from the App’s Settings under Saved files, or manage iCloud storage in your iPhone Settings.
2.6 In-app purchases
Runmon offers optional in-app purchases of in-game coins. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your name, payment card details or billing address. Apple tells the App only whether a purchase succeeded so the coins can be added to your game.
2.7 Information collected by Apple
Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymised App Store information such as download numbers, and, if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, crash reports and usage statistics. This information does not identify you personally. Apple’s handling of this information is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.
3What we do not do
- ✕We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- ✕We do not show advertising or use advertising identifiers.
- ✕We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- ✕We do not include third-party analytics or tracking software in the App.
- ✕We do not use your health or location data to make decisions about you outside the game.
4Your choices and rights
Because Runmon keeps your data on your device and in your own iCloud account, you stay in control of it:
- Permissions: you can grant, limit or revoke Health, Location and Motion access at any time in your iPhone Settings. Some gameplay features may not work without them.
- Deletion: deleting the App removes its local data from your device. You can delete your iCloud save from Settings → Saved files in the App, or through your iCloud storage settings.
- Access and correction: depending on where you live (including under the Australian Privacy Principles, the EU/UK GDPR and Californian privacy law), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information about you. As we do not hold personal information about you on our systems, most requests can be handled directly on your device, but you are welcome to contact us with any question.
5Data security and retention
Your data stays on your device and in your iCloud account, where it is protected by Apple’s built-in security measures such as device passcodes and encryption. Data remains there until you delete it or delete the App. We do not retain copies.
6Children
Runmon is a general-audience game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the App does not ask for names, email addresses, ages or other identifying details. Parents and guardians can use Apple’s Screen Time and Family Sharing settings to manage app permissions and require approval for in-app purchases.
7International users
Runmon is developed in Australia. Because the App processes your information on your device and Apple stores any iCloud backups, we do not transfer your personal information to other countries ourselves. Apple’s storage of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
8Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add new features. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. If a change materially affects how your information is handled, we will tell you in the App or in the App Store release notes.
